It is interesting to read some people’s epitaphs. The words on Ruth Graham’s tomb (Billy Graham’s wife) were chosen by her from a sign she read after driving through some roadworks: ‘End of Construction. Thank you for your patience’. On a Swiss mountaineer’s grave is written, ‘He died climbing’. The words of Jesus are a challenging and aspirational epitaph for any believer: ‘I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do’. John 17:4.
