Gareth and Malou’s update April & May 2023

George Verwer with his son Ben in Pakistan, 1981

‘Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith’. Hebrews 13:7

A week ago today, on April 14, George Verwer, the founder of OM entered eternity. Much has been written about him on social media and many tears have been shed by those who loved him and been influenced by him. In my case, it was encountering him in an international prayer meeting he ran each Tuesday in nearby Bromley that led me out of school teaching and opened doors around the world for ministry. It was on OM’s ship MV Doulos that I met my Filipino wife, Malou and it was also where I felt compelled to do something about the many wonderful Christians I met in developing countries who lacked the resources to see their dreams and visions fulfilled. With little spare money and zero experience (yet great help from others), I started the charity AMEN:
Whether you have been receiving these updates for over 45 years or this is your first one, thank you for your love, interest and support.

May God bless you all,
